The following note from Mr. Blake Rowsell who we will miss in semester II.
I am excited to be working as an Events Services Manager at the Whistler Creekside Olympic Venue. Event Services are known as "the face of the Games," Event Services is responsible for planning and managing the spectator experience at the competition venues. Typically, EVS team members are the first and last faces that guests encounter during their venue experience.
Whistler Creekside is the host venue for the men's and women's Olympic alpine skiing events. My Role is to manage a group of Team Leaders, who are each responsible for six-12 frontline staff. As a result, I will have a team with over 200 volunteers and paid employees working to ensure that the spectator side of the Olympic skiing events run safely and smoothly.
I will greatly miss teaching this upcoming semester. However I am excited about this once in a lifetime opportunity to be an ambassador for Canada and support our Olympic Athletes!
